Today is World Mental Health Day 2022. The theme of 2022's World Mental Health Day, set by the World Federation for Mental Health, is 'Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority'.
We have marked today by hosting a coffee morning in each of our offices to discuss how we, as a company and as individuals, can make make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority.
One of the ways CarmichaelUK pledges to support the mental health and wellbeing of staff, contractors and clients is by training 100% of our internal work force as Mental Health First Aiders.
Our Warrington team invited the rest of the Sankey Street office to join us, and volunteer workers from the Samaritans, for our World Mental Health Day coffee morning. The Samaritans shared some hard hitting facts with the team alongside advice on how we can help ourselves and those around us with their mental health.
Did you know that two people working in construction in the UK die by suicide every day? That's over 700 people each year. (Stats via Mates in Mind)
Following positive feedback, we will be hosting a bi-monthly coffee morning in our offices alongside the Samaritans to ensure we are constantly checking in our own mental health and developing our skills to support those around us.
