Supporting Armed Forces Week

At CarmichaelUK, we feel it is important to support and recognise the worth of the Armed Forces Community during Armed Forces Week, and every day of the year because we owe these individuals a debt of gratitude. These are the people who defend and protect us against internal and external threats. They promote the wider interests of Britain, support peacekeeping, provide humanitarian aid to those in need, and promote civil and social integration. They serve our country and help to keep us safe from harm so that we can enjoy our freedoms and go about our business unhindered.

CarmichaelUK have a proud history of supporting the Armed Forces by working in partnership with various organisations who support the Armed Forces Community to find careers in construction when they leave the service. A number of our staff and contractors are Ex Forces and we greatly value the contribution that they make to our business.

Our Managing Director, Rod Carmichael, is committed to supporting the Ex Forces Community and promotes the benefits of employing Ex Forces personnel to our clients.

"Recruiting from a more diverse community brings innovation and new perspectives which massively benefits our industry. It also assists us in addressing the skills shortage within construction. CarmichaelUK work in partnership with ex-forces organisations to identify individuals with transferable skills. We work closely with these individuals providing them with bespoke advice particular to their needs. We then introduce them to our clients where they can go on to develop rewarding and sustainable careers”.

Rod Carmichael, Managing Director

As well as promoting Ex Forces candidates to our clients, we work with Build Force, the Military Corrective Training Centre in Colchester (MTCT), and Salute my Job to promote our vacancies to the Armed Forces Community.

Our ex-forces candidates are the perfect fit for our client’s roles, and it is both an honour and a privilege to welcome these deserving men and women into our industry. We are always keen to speak with people from the Ex Forces Community who are interested in using their transferrable skills and experience to start a career within the construction and civil engineering industry.
