Manchester City Councils have announced the names of Contractors who will be working on the Highways & Infrastructure Construction Works framework worth up to £200m.

Balfour Beatty, Colas, Dawnus, Galliford Try, North Midland and Sisk will work on mainly highways projects but will also include earthworks, bridge construction and site clearance. The first scheme of work is likely to begin in January 2018 and include the Manchester and Salford Inner Relief Route, a project worth about £7m to be delivered on behalf of Manchester and Salford City Councils.

An £8.8m project to overhaul Great Ancoats Street on the edge of the city centre is also earmarked for the framework and a package of bridge maintenance work will also be procured, with more than 300 bridges across Greater Manchester requiring repairs and repointing.
