“CarmichaelUK were my first point of call when landing from Australia. They were recommended from colleagues at home and were extremely helpful in my transition and had me in a role that I was hoping for within three weeks.  Since arriving they have continued to keep in touch, manage my training and certifications and help me through any concerns or questions I’ve had.  The team are personable and always helpful.”  – Michael Clegg, Sub Agent

Over the last twenty years, we have placed thousands of overseas candidates in civil engineering roles, not just in London, but throughout the whole of the UK and Ireland.

There’s a lot to prepare for if you’re considering a job abroad; roles in the United Kingdom are very similar to those in overseas markets, however, the role descriptions are often very general and can differ greatly depending upon the client. Health and safety regulations are taken very seriously and the UK Government requires all construction workers to undertake and pass a CSCS test (Construction Skills Certification Scheme). CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications for the type of work they carry out.

Whilst the preparation may sound daunting, our New Arrivals team has been established to assist you from the point of first contact, through your registration process and on to your chosen role. Our new arrival pack includes information on UK construction terminology, health and safety procedures and how you’ll be paid. We even have our own in-house CSCS testing facility and we can arrange for you to take the test when you come for your meeting after arriving in the UK.
