At CarmichaelUK we recognise the commitment it takes to serve your country and we value the skills and experiences of the thousands of men and women who leave the armed forces each year. We have already helped a number of ex-military personnel to find a new career in construction and the response from our clients to these people has been overwhelmingly positive.

This month, we’re delighted to be attending the North West Alliance Armed Forces Insight Day organised by our friends at BuildForce, a network of construction employers, industry bodies and military charities working with the MoD and Government to identify vacancies and offer training to Ex- Forces personnel to better transition into sustainable employment in the construction industry.

The Insight Day on September 26th will focus on construction opportunities, both current and forecast, in the North West of England and will showcase a number of contractors who are all currently delivering projects across the region with potential vacancies for both permanent jobs and work placements. At CarmichaelUK , we are committed to helping ex-armed forces personnel reintegrate into successful civilian careers and recognise that the construction industry is not only accessible to a range of skill sets but has great potential for career progression and growth. CarmichaelUK will be represented at the event by our northern region Business Manager, Sean Furlong and Client Manager, Helen Egner who commented, “We mentor individuals leaving the Armed Forces, listening to their aspirations and by identifying transferable skills look for suitable roles with our clients – guiding leavers into a rewarding career path. We are a hands-on, approachable business investing in people working in construction and civil engineering and I’m thoroughly looking forward to meeting service leavers and potential candidates on the day.”

As well as providing an insight into career pathways in the construction industry, the event will feature workshops to provide industry advice on CV’s, interview preparation and using social media effectively. Click here for more information and to register a place.
