I'm currently seeking a works manager to be employed on a permanent basis. The work will involve the upgrade of multiple stations/sub stations and a mixture of rail and civils work. Included in the works is a platform extension, stepping and gauging, heavy civils works, concrete structures, fit-out and rail works. If you have previously worked on station upgrade or re-fits, this would be highly advantageous. You will be looking after around 4 smaller projects up to the value of £2m. You will be working around Central and South East London and also some work in the Kent area. This is a permanent position and your duties will include: *Provide management, leadership and control of a team *This is a client facing role *Motivate the works team and manage performance *Ensure that sufficient resources are allocated to the project team and that each has an appropriate level of ability *Apply skills and knowledge to assist engineering teams *Take direct ownership of budget for the directly employed labour and plant This is a perfect opportunity for you to work with a highly respectable contractor who is involved in upgrades for Network Rail and London Underground. You will also need to demonstrate that you possess the following requirements: *Have previously worked as a Works Manager in a rail environment *You have Network Rail and London Underground Experience *Previous experience working on rail and civils projects with a main contractor *Self-motivated and ability to deliver works as per schedule *You must drive the project forward with a strong focus o safety *Relevant CSCS Are you looking to enhance your career with a high profile major project?
