The Hinkley Point project is a unique major civils project in the UK, creating a new nuclear power station for the first time in over 30 years. We are looking for a freelance Site Engineer to work on sections of the new plant and as you can imagine; a project this size has a number of works involved but you would be working on earthworks and civils works. This will include earthworks, civils works, roads, drainage and some structural work. We are looking for someone to add value to the existing project team and hope that you could bring your skills and experience to enhance the already highly skilled team.
The project is being managed by two top tier contractors who are working in partnership so you would be working for two established international companies who span multiple sectors including rail, power, water, building and natural resources. Not only are they working on the Hinkley Point project but also have a number of projects throughout the UK and are well established within the industry so you will benefit from working for companies who value their staff and personal development.
As Site Engineer, your main duties for this role will include:
*Assisting the Section Engineer within the structures team
*Amending and writing method statements and risk assessments
*Help managing the earthworks subcontractors
*Carrying out quality inspections
*Produce ITPs and as builds -Setting out / Surveying
*Planning weekly and monthly programmes
As a freelance position, this will gain you the benefit of not just working on such a major civils project but also working for two leading international contractors.
If you are interested in this position, then you will also need to demonstrate:
*Degree, Bachelors, MSc or HND in Civil Engineering
*Experience of working in a main contractor environment
*Hold a valid CSCS certification
