A Senior Planner is required on a permanent basis to join the Thames Tideway Tunnel East section. This JV consortium will be delivering the East Section of a new tunnel to protect the tidal River Thames from the tens of millions of tonnes of sewage pollution discharged into it every year, via overflow points built into the capital's overstretched, largely Victorian sewerage network. This NEC3, option C contract is a £650m project. The 7.2m diameter tunnel runs from Chambers Wharf to Abbey Mills where it connects with the Lee Tunnel. The works include: the main tunnel drive, a connection tunnel from Greenwich Pumping Station, shaft constructions, and a connection to the newly constructed Lee Tunnel project, and minor works at Beckton Sewage Treatment.
As a member of the planning team and deputy planning manager: Contribute to progress control Contribute to update, maintain and communicate the Project Contract Programme for Acceptance Assist in the management of changes in regards of impact on programme and progress, Provide information management through consistent use of Asite & Share Point (EDMS), to support decision making and reporting Escalate issues to the Planning Manager for timely resolution Plan in accordance with the planning process procedures
For a given section of works: Have the responsibility of project planning and progress monitoring, including reviewing site records, procurement, and site works. Liaise with the teams (design, consents, construction, commercial), subcontractors, suppliers on matters relating to planning and programming, Work closely with the teams assisting in the short and mid-term programming. Liaise with the Construction Managers (and Agents) to ensure that the most effective programme strategy is followed at all times Prepare and present reports on programme and progress, and attend and contribute to site meetings and other associated meetings, Produce / Review construction sub-programmes as required Appraisal and co-ordination of Key Subcontractors' programmes, make recommendations to Package Manager for Acceptance / Rejection Contribute to risk management and maintain a correlation between risk register and the programme Support the development and update of the BIM 4D Model
Skills & qualifications: Essential * Construction / Engineering Industry Experience (5 years minimum) * Primavera P6 experience (5 years minimum) * HNC/HND minimum, engineering degree desirable * CSCS card Desirable: * Experience on Water and Tunnelling projects * NEC3 contract experience * Building or Mechanical or Civil Institution * Software Microsoft applications including Excel, Powerpoint, Word, MS project
