Section Manager (Construction Manager)

Note: Hourly rates will vary for payments under PAYE status or via an umbrella company


A Section Manager is required to work for a Tier 1 principal contractor in central London. The role will involve monitoring a team of Agents and their respective teams to deliver the RC, Fit Out and Civil works in the new station.

This is a great opportunity to add a high profile project to your CV, and to work with a one of the largest infrastructure companies in the UK who have many multi-million pound projects underway throughout the country. They are involved in a number of sectors such as rail, power, water, building and natural resources and offer the change to work overseas.

Job Responsibilities:
* Ensuring that the team have clear definition of their responsibilities.
* Producing reports for the project management.
* Maintaining staff morale.
* Lead pro-active planning of the construction works (Tunnelling, Fit-Out, MEP).
* Lead / challenge value engineering solutions.
* Assist in securing suitably qualified and experienced staff.
* Working in accordance with procedures and processes.
* Ensure works carried out in accordance with the RAMS.
* Lead any required meetings.
* Management and review of end cost forecast against target cost for all works.
* Develop and maintain relations with clients and stakeholders.
* Procurement of tunnelling / logistics plant and equipment for the project.
* Ensure implementation of systems for quality control for all section of works.
* Assisting in the preparation of early warnings

Required Experience
* Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
* Proven and successful experience working on major infrastructure projects delivering large sections of work.
* Strong understanding of Engineering Principles.
* Awareness and Understanding of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training.
* Relevant CSCS Card.
