Job Title- Passenger Transport Technician

Salary- 20000-25000

A leading Highways Service provider is looking for a Passenger Transport technician to assist with the development of programme of works for capital revenue projects for Passenger Transport.
You will be responsible for maximising funding form the Local Highways Panel, private sector and other Government funds, delivering passenger transport improvement projects and maintenance works, database management and reports.

To assist with the development of a programme of passenger transport improvements with the continuing monitoring and reviewing of the overall programme to ensure that it delivers the agreed outcomes

To project manage specific infrastructure projects and maintenance works, e.g. highway improvements of the roadside bus infrastructure, from their conception through to their completion.

To ensure these schemes are procured obtaining value of money and are delivered safety ensuring schemes are delivered within budget and on time.

To manage external sub-contractors and suppliers during the duration of the project and ensure they are working in accordance with company H&S policy and guidelines.
To manage and report on the budgets associated with own project work.

To communicate with Members, Internal and external bodies and members of the public on passenger transport policy, strategy and implementation issues.

To assist with the maintenance and update of bespoke Passenger Transport database Required to be mobile throughout Essex.

To provide advice and input into planning applications to ensure that those which may have an impact on the public transport network include appropriate provision for infrastructure and/ or service Improvement.

To Carry out any other reasonable duties that may occur in relation to passenger transport infrastructure projects.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

*Previous project management experience , ideally gained in the Highway sector
*Experience in working with external contractors
*Ability to manage budgets and meet deadlines under pressure
*Experience of team and partnership working, with strong networking skills
*Excellent IT skills including database management
*Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements in respect of works carried out on the highway/ public areas
*Knowledge of Local Government and experience of dealing with elected members
