An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer experienced in marine/water works to join a highly regarded Tier 1 contractor on one of the UKs largest Port Expansion Projects. This is an immediate start contract role with works expected to last until end 2018.
The role will be based in Kent with and the ideal candidate should have significant main contractor experience working on marine / water engineering projects. Exposure to Hydraulic Engineering, Control Systems Architecture, Steel Fabrication and lock gates/ flood barriers is essential.
This is your opportunity to work on a £115M expansion project which involves a new marina pier, dock link, jetty, port reclamation and marina fit-out.
This will be a challenging career development role that will significantly help further your career on a high profile UK construction project for a leading contractor.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: *Assist the Sub Agent on this section of works *Amending and writing method statements and risk assessment *Factory testing and commissioning *Managing the subcontractors and site engineers *Carrying out regular quality inspections *Liaison between the Sub Agent and design team on site *Produce ITPs and as builds *Planning weekly and monthly programmes *On site record keeping *Helping drive the works schedule on site to keep to completion dates
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience working as a mechanical engineer on major marine/water projects * Degree, Bachelors, MSc or HND in Mechanical Engineering * Experience of working in a main contractor environment * Experience in Hydraulic Engineering, Control Systems Architecture, Steel Fabrication * Design, installation and commissioning of lock gates / flood barriers /bridges/ gates * Hold a valid CSCS certification
