Our client have a 3 year contract to build the earthworks on sections 4&5 of the A14 Improvement Works.
They are in the process of building a team of 25 staff to manage the works.
They need an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis.
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will:
The responsibility of the Assistant Quantity Surveyor is to work in close conjunction with commercial management to ensure that allocated commercial and other tasks are fulfilled correctly and on time.
The post holder provides an important contribution to the successful management of the project through the operation of the commercial processes including the following tasks:
Perform quantity surveying and commercial tasks accurately, completely and on time.
Prepare measurement exercises
Prepare costing exercises
Administer the change process
Support the processing of resource allocation sheets with checking, coding and allocation etc.
Undertake the recording of subcontract accounts and the preparation of liability statements and payment certificates.
Manage data on Excel spreadsheets and maintain auditable records of regular updates.
Carry out costing exercises, data input and analysis and the production of reports.
Perform such other regular and ad hoc tasks as may be allocated from time to time.
Previous experience of NEC Option C contract in a highways construction environment
An appropriate level of education and qualification
Numeracy and literacy (including computer literacy)
Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative to prioritise own workload.
